Born in La Rochelle in 1986, Onizbar moved to frenetic Paris in early childhood, growing up amidst the tumult. He developed an artistic sensibility that bloomed through his keen interest in Japanese manga.

Onizbar's works depict a Parisian youth – at once aimless, powerful and proud. His works often depict strangers, but he speaks through them about his own encounters, indirectly showing deep understanding of the theory of the dream. Self-fiction is an important part of his work. Music, women and friends define the character of his paintings.

Influenced by modern paintings and manga authors like Benjamin Zhang Bin and the young Cécile, Onizbar uses watercolour and acrylics to capture life's ephemeral moments. He replaces the greyness of the city with bright colours accentuated with sharp black lines. Through painting, he crystallises singular moments, feelings or atmospheres, sometimes romantic, sometimes aggressive.
